Reman turbochargers, starters and alternators

“Our reman process includes replacing damaged or worn parts with OEM-validated parts,” explains Thom Miles, BorgWarner’s manager of sales and marketing, N.A. aftermarket. “We recondition usable parts using innovative and environmentally-friendly salvage techniques. Assembly of BorgWarner reman turbochargers are done on advanced assembly lines that employ the same rigorous engineering techniques used for new production turbochargers.

“Because remanufactured turbochargers must match engine performance requirements to help ensure maximum fuel economy,” Miles continues, “once disassembled, cleaned and inspected, key components undergo complete non-destructive salvage processing utilizing advanced equipment to help insure that original factory production specifications are met. All BorgWarner remanufactured turbochargers are supported with a 12-month unlimited mileage warranty.”

“Our reman starters and alternators incorporate OE components, processes, testing and validation,” said Mike Kelley, senior account manager responsible for the BorgWarner’s Delco Remy reman product line. “We integrate the latest changes that happen over a product’s life cycle, so our reman units are always utilizing the latest design updates. As part of the remanufacturing process, the entire product is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and inspected to ensure they meet OE specifications. All worn or damaged parts are replaced with OE components. The units are assembled utilizing OE tools and processes. The product is tested throughout the assembly process and then again after final assembly to ensure quality standards and OE performance levels have been met. In addition, all work instructions and control plans are documented to ensure consistent quality. Validation testing is performed on changes made to the product.

The Delco Remy ReMan product also provides the same customer service and technical support as a new unit. The units provide a 12 to 18 month unlimited mileage warranty depending on the model.
