SAF-Holland fifth wheels to take moderate, severe-duty standard positioning on Freightliner, Western Star trucks

SAF-Holland's FW35 and FW70 fifth wheels will take standard position on various Freightliner and Western Star tractors.

SAF-Holland announced that it has been given standard fifth wheel positioning for all moderate and severe-duty fifth wheel applications on Freightliner and Western Star tractors.

The moderate-duty standard offering fifth wheel is the FW35 (pictured above left) in a 12-in. sliding mount configuration. The FW35 model has a 55,000 lb. vertical load rating and features the TwinLock jaw mechanism.

The standard position severe-duty model is the FW70 fifth wheel (above right) with a 24-in. severe-duty sliding mount configuration, a 70,000 lb. vertical load rating and a 200,000 lb. maximum drawbar pull.

“We are honored that Daimler Truck North America has selected Holland fifth wheels for its Freightliner and Western Star brands,” said Jason Cantu, SAF-Holland’s product manager for fifth wheel. “Our strengthened DTNA partnership and this standard positioning opportunity will greatly benefit extra-duty fleet customers.”
