Ken-Tool introduces the Nineteen-Five

Ken-Tool, a maker of tire-service tools, has announced the Nineteen-Five, a tire mounting and demounting tool set it said is designed to make changing 19.5-in. truck tires easier and safer.

This specially designed tool set is designed to take the hassle out of changing 19.5-in. truck tires, which are notoriously difficult to mount and demount due to their thick beads and high ply-rating internal construction, Ken-Tool said.

This year, 19.5-in. truck tires have accounted for more than 8% of new OE vehicle fitments and 10% of all OE replacement commercial truck tires sold, the toolmaker noted.

Hunter offers new leverless rim clamp tire changer

Hunter Engineering Co., a maker of alignment systems, wheel and tire service, brake service and inspection lane equipment, introduced its new TCX575 leverless rim clamp tire changer that the company said combines traditional design elements with advanced capabilities to service everything from simple steel wheels to challenging low-profile tires on large-diameter rims.

The TCX575’s automatic swing-arm saves space over tilt-column designs, Hunter explained, adding that with the push of a button, the swing arm locks to preset wheel diameter and width positions to speed service of same-size wheels.

Oil Eater introduces eco-friendly absorbent pads

Kafko International Ltd. announced that its new absorbent pads made of natural plant by-products and featuring woven construction, Oil Eater Naturals, are designed to provide a safer and cleaner workplace while helping companies meet OSHA and EPA requirements.

The manufacturer explained that its Oil Only Pads and Rolls soak up oil and repel water; its Universal Pads and Rolls soak up oil, water and other liquids; and Absorbent Socks control larger spills and protect drains.

SafeTruck offers collapsible 5th wheel pin pullers

Ms.Carita SafeTruck Inc. has introduced six new fifth wheel pin pullers with three collapsible designs. The company said the newly redesigned Ergo Hook helps reduce the risk of injuries by evenly distributing the force needed from just the shoulder to the entire trunk of the body. At 39.5-in. fully extended, this hook allows for easy access without having to duck under the trailer and be exposed to grease and dirt, the manufacturer added. This new design puller also has a collapsible version that closes to 21 in. for easy storage and convenience.

Four Seasons Inc. introduces A/C service parts organizer

Four Seasons Inc. announced the availability of its new heavy-duty and off-road air conditioning service parts organizer (Part No. 24815).

The manufacturer said this portable kit contains 127 different part numbers, with everything professional technicians need to complete the repair, including green HNBR O-Rings, hard-to-find sealing washers, orifice tubes, service caps and more. All of the pieces are clearly labeled and organized so technicians won’t waste their valuable time looking for the right part, Four Seasons added.

Shure offers two Safety Stations

Available in basic and deluxe models, the Shure Safety Station stores first aid kits, bandages and supplies safely and efficiently, according to the manufacturer. An emergency eye wash attachment is standard.

According to the company, features include reinforced steel construction and stainless steel top and chase panel.

Daimer offers new steam pressure washers

Daimer Industries announced five Super Max pressure washers featuring its super high-temperature optimized technology (Super-HOT) wet steam feature. These electric pressure washers offer steam up to 330 degrees F and a variety of configurations and heating fuel options, the company said. Pressure levels range from 1,000 to 1,500 PSI and flow rates from 2 GPM to 4 GPM. All the machines are electrically powered and offer chemical infusion.

Kaeser offers compressed air membrane dryer

Kaeser Compressors announced its Kaeser Modular Membrane Dryer (KMM), which the company said is as a way to help stop moisture from damaging tools. The KMM can produce dew points from +40 degrees F to -40 degrees F.

According to the manufacturer, the low-maintenance dryers feature a bundle of tube-shaped membranes that allow only water vapor to pass. At the discharge end, a small amount of dry compressed air sweeps the water vapor out of the dryer.

Meritor WABCO releases TOOLBOX 9.0 diagnostic software

Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems announced the availability of TOOLBOX 9.0, the latest PC-based diagnostics software for its pneumatic and hydraulic anti-lock braking systems, electronic leveling modules, and electronically-controlled air suspensions.

According to the company, new features include: support for RSSPlus, Meritor WABCO’s trailer-based stability system; support for the “E” version of hydraulic ABS (HABS); support for tractor ABS “E” version 4.3 and hydraulic power brake (HPB) releases 1 and 2; and compatibility with Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

Tracer has detection kit for wind, water leaks

Tracer Products has introduced a leak detection product, the Tracerline TP-8648 LeakFinder Wind and Water Kit, it said pinpoints wind and water leaks around windshields, hatches, sliding doors, sunroofs, or anywhere else that leaks can occur.

The kit includes a spray gun for applying fluorescent dye over a vehicle’s exterior, the OPTIMAX Jr —a cordless, high-intensity 75-watt blue light LED flashlight, an 8 oz. bottle of super-concentrated Dye-Lite fluorescent water dye and fluorescence-enhancing glasses. Everything is contained in a durable, plastic carrying case.

Snap-on offers soft grip wire stripper

Snap-on announced its Soft Grip Wire Stripper (PWCS9), a cold-forged multi-purpose wire stripper. Its special blend of alloy steel produces a tool that is strong and durable, the company added.

The soft grip wire stripper’s enclosed spring keeps the stripper open and ready to use and protects it from exposed dirt and grit that can cause malfunction. Snap-on said that with its induction hardened surface, the wire stripper will strip stranded wire from AWG20 to AWG10 and solid wire from 18 up to eight.
