The questions that impacted how your equipment moves on the road during the nationwide shutdown persist now that states are starting to reopen. Are the rest stops open in that area? Is there truck parking available? These types of questions have a huge impact on your equipment’s operation and routing decisions as delivery ETAs and traffic patterns shift.
Early in the shutdown, Drivewyze moved quickly to launch rest area open and closed alerts to its Safety Notifications service. Since late March, the company has made rest area alerts available for Pennsylvania, Florida and Indiana. To get a view of the road as states reopen and track the rate of freight movement change, I connected with Brian Mofford, vice president of government experience, Drivewyze. Watch the video above for the latest update on rest area availability, weight station operation and how technology solutions are integrating into on-road infrastructure.
