A hands-on, classroom experience at the Wix Institute of Filtration Technology in Gastonia, N.C., and online courses through its eLearning Center, are providing product training on the latest Wix filtration technologies to customers. Classes at the institute are now being scheduled in September and November.

The three-day course covers the science of filtration, oil and air filtration systems and testing, product development and engineering, laboratory procedures, product evaluation and diagnosis, and engine systems technology. About 60% of the training session is devoted to tours of plants, distribution centers and laboratory and testing facilities.

Wix Filters said it also hosts a Filtration eLearning Center, offering convenient online courses. Participants earning a 70% or better on course ending quizzes earn the title of Certified Filtration Specialist. Throughout the process students can earn several certificates.

“We are proud to support our customers through our commitment to education with a curriculum that appeals to technicians, fleet managers, educators and distributors, whether it’s at the Institute or through our eLearning Center,” said Paul Bandoly, manager of technical services and customer training at Wix Filter, and the lead instructor for the Institute. “Our goal is to educate our customers on the types of filtration products available, as well as their design, construction and use. We also want them to understand the facilities where our products are manufactured, as well as future trends in the filtration industry.”
