Yokohama announces commercial tire size expansions

The two tire models are intended for regional duty, with one being approved for severe snow service.

Yokohama announced a size expansion for two tire models meant for regional use: the 714R and 124R.

Yokohama tells us the 124R was designed for use during winter weather and meets the industry requirements for severe snow service. It’s intended for use on buses and larger regional like trucks like day cabs, delivery trucks, and straight trucks, according to Yokohama. The 124R is also available in more sizes, from 17.5-in. to 22.5-in.

The 714R is an all-weather tire, only available in 22.5-in. radius. Yokohama says it is made with an advanced compound that lowers rolling resistance and improves fuel efficiency. Its intended use shifts more toward van and pick-up fleets, but Yokohama says it can be also used on parcel delivery and straight trucks.

In the 22.5-in. size, both models are backed by Yokohama’s seven-year unlimited retread casing warranty, while the smaller sizes of the 124R have a six-year warranty.
