Penske Truck Leasing added the company’s 18th North America truck collision repair center in the Philadelphia suburb of Fairless Hills, Pa. The new location is Penske’s second repair center in the Keystone State.
“The facility serves the needs of Penske’s truck fleet and contract customers, as well as commercial truck fleets,” said James Svaasand, Penske’s vice president of collision repair.
The center does collision, box and trailer repairs, complete vehicle refinishing, and frame and alignment work for commercial trucks and vehicles.
The 14,000-sq.-ft. building is placed on four acres and utilizes light fixtures that reduce energy use by 50%, according to Penske. The structure also features a high-efficiency paint spray booth that filters emissions. This booth employs smart technology that minimizes energy and fuel consumption, housing a high-tech air filtration system.
Penske is expected to hire nine new associates—six technicians and three administrative positions.
“Prior to opening this location, Penske vehicles, and those of our customers, were being serviced from our repair centers in Reading, Pa., and East Hartford, Conn.,” said Jack Gallagher, senior vice president-Northeast Region, Penske Truck Leasing. “We’re now in the perfect position to attain new business in the Philadelphia and metro New York areas.”
