Continental announced that its VDO RoadLog ELD platform has successfully completed data transfer testing with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
The VDO RoadLog ELD confirmed compliance with ELD mandate regulations by effectively demonstrating its ability to transfer data to an authorized enforcement official’s PC via a wireless internet connection and locally via USB 2.0. The data transfer testing was conducted on Dec. 5.
The successful results of this test means that drivers using the VDO RoadLog ELD will be able to transmit log data electronically while roadside to FMCSA’s ELD monitoring software (eRODS), now in use by state and federal law enforcement. During the testing, VDO RoadLog also demonstrated the ability to generate a printout for manual inspections.
