Volvo saves money with ‘energy treasure hunt’

Volvo Group North America recently conducted an "energy treasure hunt" at its Charlotte, North Carolina, remanufacturing facility, identifying energy savings equivalent to 15% of the site’s utility expenditures.

Volvo Group North America recently conducted an “energy treasure hunt” at its Charlotte, North Carolina, remanufacturing facility, identifying energy savings equivalent to 15% of the site’s utility expenditures. Implementing these recommendations amounts to saving 144,270 lbs. of annual carbon dioxide emissions, the company says.

Volvo Group North America regularly conducts energy treasure hunts at its facilities to identify operational and behavioral low-cost or no-cost energy savings opportunities. The Charlotte remanufacturing facility energy treasure hunt was the seventh that the Volvo Group has conducted. Thus far, employees of Volvo Group have found energy savings opportunities equivalent to $1 million dollars from these activities, the company says.
