“Act now.” That was the Volvo Trucks mantra at ACT Expo in the back half of 2021, when we were still (and currently are) facing uncertainty and change in nearly all aspects of life. But one thing it didn’t change, was progress. The trucking industry was moving forward with advanced diesel engine technology, electric powertrains, advanced data-driven services. Cut to today: The next generation of Volvo Trucks VNR Electric truck has arrived with expanded range, Volvo’s I-Shift automated manual transmissions shifts into new gears of fuel efficiency and Volvo Trucks has turned an eye toward greater sustainability with a focus on infrastructure development and “battery circularity.” All while dealing with today’s strained supply chain, soaring diesel prices and unceasing truck demand.
Clearly there was no shortage of things to talk about when I caught up with Volvo Trucks North America President Peter Voorhoeve and the product management team. The fruits of those conversations are laid below, a cornucopia of content that spans all of the industry’s topical offerings. So click below to start your reading adventure, there’s no right or wrong way to approach it. Gorge upon the delicious truck-focused info and come back for seconds when you’re done taking in your first choice.
