Clarience showcases Air Vue wireless camera system

With up to 4 connected cameras, the company says this is the next step towards its integrated safety ecosystem.

Clarience Technologies showcased its Air Vue wireless vision system at the TMC 2024 Annual Meeting. Clarience says the commercial trailer camera system, which came as part of the company’s acquisition of Safe Fleet last month, fits well with its other fleet safety technologies. Clarience explained that Air Vue uses a single wireless hub to connect up to four wireless cameras to a monitor.

Clarience says the system offers rearview and side cameras, with the option for a secondary rear- or front-facing camera on the back of the tractor. The company adds that the Air Vue transmitter signal has the power to span triple trailers, and features buttonless pairing so drivers do not need to add any new steps to their current trailer tethering practices.

“We can envision what’s possible by bringing the Air Vue wireless trailer vision system to our line-up of other commercial trailer safety technologies,” said Mark Johnson, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Clarience.

Clarience says the use of cameras in commercial transportation is on the rise as advances in technology expand their role in safety. Safe Fleet has already provided over 1.5 million video systems in North America spanning several industries and markets like school transportation, transit, law enforcement and commercial vehicles, according to Clarience. The company adds that it is now able to leverage Safe Fleet’s Air Vue system, which was introduced in March 2023, and is currently in pilot with more than twenty commercial fleets.

According to Clarience, Air Vue currently has integrations with telematics service providers Lytx, Netradyne and Samsara, and work is underway to make Road Ready its next integration. Clarience says this new system is helping them take the next step toward what they’ve called Total Visibility—which integrates all its sensors and smart visibility technologies into its Fus1on digital IoT fleet data platform.

“We envision a digital safety ecosystem built from connecting a variety of smart technologies and solutions with software enabling data-driven insights and actions that improve safety outcomes and performance,” said Paul Sniegocki, executive vice president and chief technology officer, Clarience. “With the right pieces now in place, we are accelerating our research and development efforts including close collaboration with our customers and technology partners.”
