Hendrickson announced the extension of the limited warranty on the Steertek truck and tractor steer axle to five years or 750,000 miles. Steertek comes standard with the Airtek integrated front air suspension system and Softtek integrated front steel leaf suspension system.
Offered in capacities from 12,000 to 14,600 pounds, the box-shaped cross section of the Steertek axle resists horizontal, vertical and twisting forces more effectively than traditional I-beam axles enabling tires to maintain better contact with the road and helping to improve steer tire life, the company said.
The patented design also makes Steertek a durable front axle that demonstrates exceptional field performance, the company said. Together with suspension elements, the robotically welded Steertek axle beam forms a torsion system, helping enhance roll stability characteristics and improve handling.
