ACT Research reports that North American retail sales for Classes 5-8 posted solid gains in April.
“Class 8 retail sales rose 6% month over month to their best reading in six months at 23,100 units, and the strongest sales months of the year are yet to come,” said Steve Tam, vice president-commercial vehicle sector at ACT Research Co. LLC. “Classes 5-7 retail sales rose nearly 14% month over month to 20,100 units, their highest level since March 2007,” he added. Year to date, Class 8 sales are up 9% and Classes 5-7 sales are up 13%.
