Thermo King launches T-1000 Spectrum multi-temp unit

Thermo King’s new T-Series line of temperature control units for straight trucks, the T-1000 Spectrum, is a self-powered multi-temperature unit with the latest in scroll compressor technology, according to the company. The unit features fuel efficient engineering, electric standby operation and 2,000-hour service maintenance intervals with EMI-2000.

Thermo King offers high-output electric standby option

A high-output version of Thermo King’s SmartPower electric standby option is available on select trailer units. The option delivers quicker pre-cool and less run time for customers hauling larger frozen loads, along with a greater overall cooling capacity, the company said. The SmartPower HO also offers reduced noise, diesel emissions, maintenance costs, waste generation and life cycle cost.

New high-mileage steer tire from Kelly

The new Kelly Armorsteel KLS features an 18/32-in. tread depth in a five-rib design, with a barrel-shaped footprint to optimize treadwear performance, according to Goodyear. All five ribs feature edge blades to enhance treadwear performance. The tire also features lateral sipes and slots on the three main ribs to provide excellent traction and handling, as well as a pressure distribution groove to promote uniform wear and long life. Goodyear says the tire is highly retreadable because of its four-belt package. The Kelly Armorsteel KLS is offered in 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 295/75R22.5 and 285/75R24.5 sizes.

Dana’s new line of Spicer axles ready for medium-duty fleets

Dana Holding Corp.’s new Spicer S140 Series axles are designed to improve fuel economy, reduce maintenance costs, increase operator comfort and boost overall vehicle performance. The company said the single-drive, medium-duty axles are nearly 100 lbs. lighter compared with current competitive medium-duty axles and 85 lbs. lighter than the current Spicer axle. Also, with an initial Roadranger lubrication drain at 250,000 miles and 32% less lubrication required overall, they are easier to maintain and more environmentally friendly, the company said.

Yokohama introduces MY627W commercial tire

Yokohama Tire Corp.’s new all-position waste and sanitation tire, the MY627W, offers new features designed to deliver longer tread life, added durability and reduced operating costs for trucks used in the demanding sanitation industry, the company said. The tire, which will be available in June in size 315/80R22.5 load range L, features a wide outside rib with extra-wide serpentine grooves to resist tears and improve traction, sidewall indentations to dissipate heat during stop-and-go driving, an angled double wave outside groove to sustain rib rigidity and reduce stone penetration, and sidewall armor to help protect against damage from curbing, Yokohama said.

Truck-Lite offers Flex-Lite LEDs

Truck-Lite’s Flex-Lite LED lighting allows for flexible mounting, without additional accessories and with versatile wire options. The new line of LED products features two new robust thermoplastic housing designs. With a specially engineered peel-and-stick adhesive backing, the lamps are affixed to the surface with a heavy-duty adhesive that’s designed to hold up to weather, impact and much more while maintaining a strong hold.

New hybrid multi-temp unit from Carrier Transicold

The new Vector 6600MT hybrid trailer refrigeration unit from Carrier Transicold provides the highest refrigeration capacity of any multi- temperature unit on the market and delivers up to 20% greater fuel efficiency than its predecessor, according to the company. The units feature Carrier’s Deltek diesel-electric technology, which delivers high operating efficiencies, reduced maintenance requirements vs. conventional belt-drive systems and an electric standby option for stationary units.

Dunlop launches SmartWay long-haul tires

Dunlop’s FM steer, drive and trailer tires are fuel-efficient, long haul tires that qualify as EPA SmartWay-verified technology. The company said the line, when used in all positions, is expected to save owner-operators and fleets up to 4% in fuel bills, compared to using standard Dunlop long-haul tires. The Dunlop casings support Goodyear Fuel Max retreads to further reduce life-cycle costs.

Kenworth unveils new aerodynamic T700

The new, fuel-efficient Kenworth T700 is the next generation in aerodynamic advances, delivering excellent low-cost operation, superior driver comfort and modern styling, according to the company. The T700, which will be available this summer, has received U.S. EPA SmartWay program verification and features the 2010 PACCAR MX engine, Kenworth NavPlus, a spacious cab and sleeper, excellent serviceability and best-in-class forward lighting.

Thermo King’s new TriPacE is an all-new electric auxiliary idle reduction and temperature management system designed to provide a clean, sustainable choice for those customers looking for APU options. Because it is an electric, battery-based APU system, it offers significant fuel savings, the company said.

Hendrickson release reduced weight system Composilite SC13

Henderickson’s new Composilite SC13 offers a reduced system weight up to 69 lbs. and a minimized package space of 22.1 in. The company said it has taken tie-rod technology one step further by introducing the Compliant Tie Rod (CTR) with PerfecTrak Technology.

Truck-Lite’s new line of LED lighting products, Flex-Lite, is designed to save customers money because it allows for flexible mounting, without the need for additional accessories and with versatile wire options, the company said. The lamps feature a heavy-duty adhesive backing and are available with both a rear-exit and side-exit wiring housing style.
