Cobra Electronics Corp. unveiled its new 29 LX LCD CB Radio at MATS. The radio features a modern design with a selectable LCD color display; customizable night and day settings to enhance readability in bright and dark conditions; and a new clock/timer that enables drivers to track their on-time driving hours.
The 29 LX also offers a large center scroll knob that provides simple one-touch programming, as well as a weather alert scan that automatically advances to the next clear NOAA weather channel when driving cross-country. The industry’s first and only Radio Check Diagnostic allows drivers to continuously monitor the radio’s RF power output, antenna system and battery voltage, Cobra said.
29 LX LCD CB Radio, with a suggested retail price of $149.95, will be available in April nationwide at travel centers, CB shops and truck dealers, and on the company’s website.
The company also showed its Cobra 5550 Pro, the new 5-in. navigation unit. The product offers enhanced graphics, Junction View with Lane Assist, State Mileage Log, and Hours-of-Service Log, along with the industry’s best last-mile routing for unmatched road coverage on secondary highways, according to Cobra. The Quick-Tabs feature puts critical information—such as distances to weigh stations, travel centers, rest areas and mile markers—at the driver’s fingertips.
The Cobra 5550 Pro includes more than 12 million standard points-of-interest plus 33,000 truck-specific POIs, like routable travel center locations, detailed amenity information, fueling stations, restaurants, heavy duty towing, truck and trailer repair shops, truck-friendly hotels, weigh stations, and the location of certified scales.
The Cobra 5550 Pro will be available at travel centers nationwide in April for a suggested retail price of $349.95.
