Daimler Truck appoints new CFO

Eva Scherer joins Daimler Truck from Siemens AG, where she served as executive vice president and global head of investor relations.

Daimler Truck Holding AG has appointed Eva Scherer as its new chief financial officer, effective April 1. Scherer will serve a three-year term and will oversee finance and controlling within the company.

Joe Kaeser, chairman of Daimler Truck’s supervisory board, addressed the urgency of the appointment due to the unexpected vacancy. The position of CFO at Daimler Truck was previously held by Jochen Goetz, who passed away unexpectedly in August.

“The position of CFO has tragically become vacant. Following an intensive selection process, the supervisory board has now filled the position,” Kaeser said. He emphasized the board’s focus on attributes like open-mindedness, diversity, potential and enthusiasm for change, praising Scherer for demonstrating these qualities.

Martin Daum, chairman of Daimler Truck’s Board of Management, welcomed Scherer, acknowledging her extensive financial experience in a large corporate group in a similar industry. “With her broad financial experience, she can provide important impulses that will benefit Daimler Truck on its path of transformation,” Daum said.

Scherer joins Daimler Truck from Siemens AG, where she served as executive vice president and global head of investor relations. Her career began in 2003 as a trainee at Siemens AG, followed by various management positions in purchasing and finance and controlling in Germany and Switzerland. Scherer’s experience includes roles in Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
