Dynabrade Inc. introduced an 11-in. Random Orbital Sander, featuring apowerful new air motor and many ergonomic improvements, the companysaid. The new sander is designed for use on large areas, such as sides of trucks, busses and large-scale machinery

The sander features a .7 HP air motor and runs at 2,400 RPM. The ¾-in. diameter random orbital action offers a swirl-free finish on a variety of surfaces. With an extra large 11-in. work area, this tool covers the largest work area of any Dynabrade tool. The sander includes a 56231 Hook-Face Sanding Pad for accepting abrasive discs 11-1/4-in. in diameter. The sanding pad is weight-mated to the tool, resulting in reduced vibration. The lightweight tool also features a long handle design for additional comfort and control, especially when working in vertical positions.

The tool is available in non-vacuum and vacuum-ready configurations. The vacuum-ready tool includes an 11-in. diameter hook-face sanding pad for use with O-style hook-face abrasive discs. The center opening in the abrasive disc allows dust to be drawn up through the center holes of the sanding pad. he vacuum shroud, which is included, offers enhanced vacuum capability, the ocmpany said. The shroud has a vacuum port for a 1.25-in. diameter hose cuff, allowing for increased airflow.

The sander includes an 18553 “bicycle grip” side handle, which further adds to lower vibration and operator comfort, the company said. The handle is reversible for left or right-handed use. The insulated tool housing reduces tool vibration and cold air transmission to the hands, resulting in a warmer, more comfortable feel as the tool is running. A safety-lock throttle lever is standard. The lever is designed to prevent accidental start-up of the tool and has no sharp edges or “pinch points”. It is made in the USA.
