Ken-Tool has released its unique, patented Strap Winder tool (# 39760), which the company said over-the-road truckers will find to be time saving and very useful to secure nylon straps to the winches attached to a flatbed deck.
To take up the strap, the driver inserts the winder into the winch shaft tightening hole and using an in/out motion, quickly winds the strap onto the winch spool. After the slack has been drawn into the winch spool, the driver engages the ratchet locking mechanism, and tightens the straps by inserting the handle end into the tightening holes and turning the shaft, the company explained. The 19-in. Strap Winder weighs 2.1 lbs. and is made of durable, high-quality steel that is blue powder coated for a long service life, Ken-Tool said, adding it has a long-lasting, weather-resistant foam rubber grip that provides operator comfort and convenience.
According to the maker, the Strap Winder handle also is highly useful as a “cheater bar” to provide added leverage during the final tightening of nylon strap ratchet assemblies, as well as a handy tire “knocker.”
