Kimball Midwest’s new “Kim-Brite” surface maximizing wheels combine aggressive surface conditioning with super-fine finishing, eliminating the need for separate operations and reducing downtime, the maker said. They are suitable for use on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass and non-ferrous metals.
“Kim-Brite” wheels conform to the shape of the surface and quickly remove contaminants, rust corrosion, paint and oxides, and, unlike other surface conditioning and preparation products, remove sharp edges from the surface without damage to the wheel. The durable wheels are said to outlast conventional surface preparation and finishing wheels 10 to 1.
Kimball Midwest’s popular, environmentally friendly Therma-Shield heat protection gel is now available in a protective paste, with 2.5 times more heat reflective capability, its maker said.
Therma-Shield protects materials by reducing the transfer of heat during soldering, brazing, welding and open flame contact, thereby eliminating costly and time-consuming disassembly of valves and other components. According to Kimball-Midwest, it can be applied to almost any surface or material, and conforms to irregular shapes and surfaces to provide total coverage and protection. The new paste formula also eliminates waste, as it can be applied only where needed. Both Therma-Shield paste and gel formulas are non-flammable, non-toxic, non-corrosive and biodegradable.
