In the June issue of Phillips Industries Qwik Tech Tips newsletter, a simple, easy to understand diagram shows the 7-pin round (J560) terminal functions as viewed looking into an open socket.

The subject of the current newsletter is troubleshooting a lights out situation, and the diagram is used as a visual aid to clearly identify specific circuits to pinpoint the problem. Supplying a copy of the newsletter, along with a socket circuit checker tool, to truck drivers would help them quickly resolve a lights out problem before they are cited during a roadside inspection, according to the company.

Qwik Tech Tips is a monthly newsletter published by Phillips Industries that offers easy solutions to electrical maintenance issues facing trucking fleets, the company said. It is designed to be a “qwik” read that would offer useful unbiased technical advice for maintenance management, technicians as well as drivers and others who interface with truck and trailer electrical components.  Each issue of Qwik Tech Tips can be found at www.phillipsqwiktechtips.com  or can be delivered in PDF format directly each month via e-mail by requesting that option on the website.
