SAF-Holland has announced the release of the SAF CBX40 air suspension system for the North American van and reefer markets.

The system incorporates a high strength slider box with QwikRelease pin pull for easy slider adjustments. It also features SwingAlign for fast and convenient axle alignment and cast beam trailing arm construction for optimal strength and weight reduction, its maker said.

“To signify this new level of systems technology, the CBX40 was branded as a SAF product to align with our global branding strategy to migrate all trailer suspension systems to the SAF brand,” said Sam Martin, chief operating officer for SAF-Holland. “Over time, all trailer suspension systems will carry the SAF brand as new technology is integrated into our product portfolio.”

The Integral-Disc option offered on the CBX40 improves braking performance and efficiency while significantly lowering maintenance costs and downtime, according to SAF. A proprietary bi-metallic casting process that mechanically combines the rotor and adapter-flange into a single rotor assembly is designed to control the effects of heat. Under extreme braking conditions, Integral’s rotor expands in a radial direction to keep rotor surfaces flat and stable. This helps to minimize the risk of premature rotor failure, while extending brake pad and bearing life, the company explained.
