Trailer leasing options and added services

When it comes to leasing trailers, the best decisions are made when fleet managers know all of the options. Most trailer leasing companies offer a wide range of equipment with flexible financing options, from short-term rentals to long-term leasing.

Flexible options
In addition, according to GE’s TIP Trailer Services, trailer equipment leasing can help fleets improve their focus on core business and maximize returns, which frees up cash to expand the business. Leasing can also increase financing options and sourcing power, as well as improve the utilization of the fleet during seasonal and regional fluctuations, which adds flexibility to respond to customers’ needs.

GE’s TIP Trailer Services offers flexible fleet options such as short-term rental, leasing and sales, plus it provides a wide variety of trailers, tankers, swapbodies, chassis and trucks. These rental options enable a fleet to respond more quickly to seasonal peaks and changes in geographical demand. GE says its FleetOptions product portfolio consists of:

• Leasing—Finance your equipment through a company that knows your business and has value-added leasing solutions.
• Rental—Rent from as little as one day up to one year and choose from a range of back-up services.
• Sales—Purchase from a large selection of previously owned equipment.
• Equipment—Select equipment from an industry leader with one of the largest and most diverse trailer, tanker, intermodal and truck fleets in Europe.

Extra service
Xtra Lease says with every Xtra Lease rental or leased trailer, the company offers Xtra Advantage, a group of core services designed to help fleets keep their businesses moving quickly and efficiently. The services include:

• RoadWatch emergency road service—Road service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
• Collision damage waiver check—A low-cost alternative to traditional insurance coverage
• Xtra care maintenance services
• Trailer pick up and drop off services
• Xtra access online account management—Quickly and easily manage your rental and leased trailers with a one-stop account management resource

Customized options
National Semi Trailer Corp. says fleets just need to specify what they are hauling and the company will match them up with the best trailer rates, which are locally quoted. The company said it quotes a daily/weekly/
monthly rental rate that has a rate incentive structure. It also quotes long-term lease rates upon request and, the company adds, the longer the lease term, the cheaper a fleet can lock in the lease rate.

In addition, the National offers a Physical Damage Waiver, which the company said can expedite the approval process and actually save fleets money.
