Understanding and improving your truck fleet health

Understanding and improving your truck fleet health

Fleet health means understanding how fault codes interact with each other, what that means and what you should do about it to ensure your trucks can work productively. Connected remote diagnostics allows you to take a bird’s eye view of your overall fleet health and then dive into the troubled trucks, getting them into a service bay and getting the issue fixed.

Easier said than done. And that’s the key––doing something after looking at your data. I connected with Brian Mulshine, director of customer experience, Navistar, to talk about how fleets can improve overall fleet health, what data needs attention if duty cycles shift, and how to work with your in-house or outsourced maintenance operation. Watch the video above for all of the insight.

Taking truck data into the shop

From the fleet manager dashboard to the shop manager’s work order, data can streamline the service process to get you back on the road faster. I connected with Chintan Sopariwala, Navistar’s vice president and general manager of connected vehicles. We talk service location-finding resources, best practices for fleets that want to decrease dwell time, best practices for leveraging data to schedule preventative maintenance and more.
