Horton introduces web-based Airflow System Configurator

The user-friendly online application identifies the fan model and design of Horton's plastic, modular and metal fans used in on-highway, off-highway, stationary and industrial equipment. When a user enters design parameters, the web-based application processes the data and provides fan options, with links to show fan performance curves for the specific configuration.

Horton said it now has an advanced, user-friendly online application that offers access to the company’s airflow management expertise. The Airflow System Configurator identifies the fan model and design of Horton’s plastic, modular and metal fans used in on-highway, off-highway, stationary and industrial equipment.

When a user enters design parameters, the web-based application processes the data and provides fan options, with links to show fan performance curves for the specific configuration. The system’s recommendations are based on actual test results, not theoretical simulation, according to the company. Those seeking plastic fan configurations receive a part number for ordering and a reference drawing with general and mounting dimensions.

The application, which is continually updated with the latest test data on the newest designs, also features the ability to include immersion and downstream restriction as parameters for evaluating fan performance. Users can watch narrated video demonstrations or review a PDF to learn to use the system. The Airflow System Configurator and fan performance curves are available at www.hortonww.com/resources.

"Increasingly, our customers have very specific needs that warrant individualized solutions," said Jeff Wood, Horton’s fan product manager. "The Airflow System Configurator provides customers with decades of Horton’s expertise to select fan designs that meet their exact requirements."
