SmartDrive Systems moves headquarters

SmartDrive Systems moves HQ

SmartDrive Systems relocated its corporate headquarters to San Diego’s Sorrento Valley neighborhood. The 25,000-sq.-ft. facility offers a 35% increase in space. The company said that the move will support continued growth, and house cross-functional teams, including executive leadership, operations, marketing and sales divisions and the previously-offsite warehouse, which processes inventory and handles customer deliveries and customer on-boarding.

“Our business has grown significantly over the past three years and the additional space is a key component for ongoing expansion,” said Steve Mitgang, chief executive officer of SmartDrive. “We are thrilled to now have all of our local teams under the same roof, and be in an upgraded facility that enables collaboration and helps us best serve our customers.”

SmartDrive delivers a video-based safety program that is focused on identifying unsafe driving and preventing it from happening in the future. SmartDrive’s open platform identifies driving risk, captures video, vehicle, audio and driving data and automatically offloads that video for review by driving experts. The incident is then scored for risk and prioritized for follow-on coaching, providing a picture of what happened, and enabling fleet managers to focus their discussion on the areas that matter most to the business. Customers who use SmartDrive see up to 70% reduction in collision frequency and costs in the first year, said the company.

Among other things, the company noted that the new office space has enabled the company to launch a bring-your-dog-to-work initiative and other cultural enhancements for its employees.
