What a difference six months makes. The last TMC took place in September just as supply chain stranglehold was tightening its grip, and you could feel the frustration in the trucking industry on all sides. This year’s TMC show struck a distinctly more positive note. The press day on Sunday was packed with products and services (with a deluge of announcements that continued throughout the week.) The conversations in the halls turned toward opportunities. We’ve seemed to settle into today’s new, new, new (wait, how many ‘new-s’ are we on?) normal, taking the challenges in stride, and trucking forward into tomorrow.

Electrification was a huge theme at the show with fleet managers pulling open the hoods of electric trucks to get a look at the innards of motors, batteries and high-voltage cables. A close second was the talk of connected service solutions that are providing increased visibility into a truck-down event.

Take a photographic journey through the show hall with the rundown of the images below.

According to ACT Research, preliminary net trailer orders fell nominally from February to March. At 13,600 units, orders were also down 24% compared to last March 2023. This, ACT said, matches predictions of a "year of transition" in the industry,
