Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, Dayton Parts, LLC (DP, LLC), Haldex, ODYSSEY Battery and SKF now are accepting applications for the 2007 Technician of the Year Award program. The program is designed to recognize a technician who exemplifies the best qualities of the profession, including his/her technical and mechanical experience, service specialties and overall contributions to the industry.

Throughout the year (until December 1, 2007), fleet managers may nominate a technician by visiting http://www.techoftheyear.com/ or by clicking the link available on each of the five participating sponsor company Web sites. Following the annual December 1st nominating deadline, a panel of independent judges from various heavy duty industry organizations and the five company sponsors will chose a winner from the pool of applications.

The winning technician will be announced at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) in Las Vegas (Jan. 21 – 24, 2007). The winner and its nominator will receive a VIP trip to Las Vegas to attend HDAW. Additionally, a reception will be held during HDAW to honor the 2007 Technician of the Year winner. The technician and his/her fleet also will receive national recognition from select trucking industry trade publications.

The Technician of the Year Award program is designed to recognize fleet technicians as a valuable asset in the heavy duty fleet marketplace. Bendix, DPI, Haldex, ODYSSEY Battery and SKF value the award as an industry standard, recognizing those who dedicate proper maintenance techniques to the profitability and quality of their fleet operations.

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, Dayton Parts, LLC (DP, LLC), Haldex, and SKF created the program in 2005 to recognize a fleet’s superstar technician. ODYSSEY Battery joined the four original sponsors for the 2007 season.
