Bar’s Leaks Liquid Copper repairs leaking intake manifolds

Bar's Leaks Liquid Copper Block Seal Intake & Radiator Stop Leak is designed to chemically repair leaks in the intake manifold and intake manifold gasket, as well as other major cooling system leaks. It will not harm the cooling system when properly installed, nor will it clog the heater core, the company said.

Bars-Leaks-Liquid-CopperAccording to its maker, Bar’s Leaks Liquid Copper Block Seal Intake & Radiator Stop Leak has been specifically designed to chemically repair leaks in the intake manifold and intake manifold gasket, as well as other major cooling system leaks.

“Leaks in the intake manifold are serious – if they’re not repaired, they can cause a vehicle’s engine to fail completely,” says Clay Parks, Bar’s Products vice president of development. “These leaks are becoming more frequent and expensive to fix. Manufacturers have been making intake manifolds out of plastic for 15 years on some vehicles, with the older designs featuring coolant passages made out of plastic. The circulation of hot coolant through those passages would degrade the plastic, making it brittle and prone to leak. Bar’s Leaks Liquid Copper Block Seal & Radiator Stop Leak is the only product on the market formulated to repair these leaks in a single step. You just add it to the cooling system, idle the engine for five minutes, and your repair is done. You don’t even have to drain the antifreeze first.”

Bar’s Leaks Liquid Copper works by forming a physical seal at the site of the leak using organic and synthetic fibers, copper and an ionic-modified sealant. The seal is then permanently cemented in place with liquid glass. Bar’s Leaks Liquid Copper will not harm the cooling system when properly installed, nor will it clog the heater core, the company said.

Liquid Copper can be used in any water-cooled vehicle, including cars, trucks, vans, SUVs and RVs. It is compatible with all types of coolant, including yellow, orange, pink, red, blue and green silicate-based and non-silicate-based (OAT/HOAT) antifreeze and/or water. It is available for distribution in case packs of six 18 oz. bottles, the company added.
