The M853, a new on/off-highway all-position radial for regional hauls, has been introduced by Bridgestone Commercial Solutions (BCS), a division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations. The M853 replaces the M850 and is currently available in 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 sizes, both in an “H” load rating. A 12R22.5 “H” load rating size will be available in the fourth quarter of 2012.
“The M853 is the tire for haulers who must travel on a variety of terrain to get the job done,” said Scott Damon, vice president of marketing at BCS. “The technologies in this product not only offer the durability needed to move repeatedly between asphalt, gravel and dirt, but the design also protects the casing to ultimately provide a longer lasting, retreadable tire.”
According to Bridgestone, the M853 features a tread pattern designed with interlocking multi-edge blocks for more solid traction at work sites and on highways, and tie bars that link tread blocks together to combat heel-and-toe wear. The tire’s shoulder design helps combat irregular wear, and stone rejector platforms repel stones that can damage casings. The M853 also has four steel belts, a steel body ply and thick sidewalls to help protect the casing.
