The Conti Hybrid HD3 drive tire from Continental Tire the Americas gives fleets the ability to utilize the same tire in linehaul and regional applications. Continental’s widest dual drive tire, at 248 mm, has 27/32nds tread depth in a new regenerating pattern. Cut in three dimensions, according to the company, the tread pattern provides both long tread life as well excellent traction. In addition, tread cap compounding and other features contribute to an improvement in rolling resistance and fuel efficiency.
The HD3 is being offered in 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 sizes and will be available as a ContiTread retread product in late 2013. The new tire and the ContiTread product will be submitted to the U.S. EPA SmartWay Transport Partnership technology program for verification.
