DCL International Inc. announced that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has verified the Roadwarrior diesel particulate filter for use with certain on-road diesel vehicles.
CARB-verified diesel particulate filters (DPF) are used to retrofit on-road diesel engines for the reduction of diesel particulate matter from engine exhaust. The exhaust gas is forced through the filter’s catalytically coated ceramic monolith, containing long narrow channels, which are open at one end and blocked at the other, and particulate matter becomes trapped in the filter.
A vehicle fitted with a CARB verified Roadwarrior DPF would operate normally, using only the heat in the exhaust gas to continuously burn off the soot particulates and transform them into carbon dioxide, according to the maker.
