Fluid Rx expands coolant diagnostics

Heavy-Duty Antifreeze Diagnostics dip-strips from Fluid Rx provide the fluid's freeze point, nitrite, molybdate and pH levels. Results are available in about one minute, giving the most accurate reading outside of a full laboratory analysis. For light-duty vehicles and most cars, the Fluid Rx All-In-1 Automotive Antifreeze/Coolant Diagnostics dip-strips measure the freeze point, boiling point, reserve alkalinity and pH level.

Fluid Rx said it continues to change the face of preventative maintenance with the development of its Heavy-Duty Antifreeze Diagnostics dip-strips. This specially developed product joins Fluid Rx All-In-1 dip-strips as a unique and easy-to-use system to improve vital fluid testing, according to the maker. Combined with Fluid Rx fluid analysis kits, it provides automotive maintenance facilities with the most efficient and profitable way to ascertain the condition of a vehicle’s vital operating fluids.

The new dip-strips quickly and easily provide the fluid’s freeze point, nitrite, molybdate and pH levels. Results are available in about one minute, giving the most accurate reading outside of a full laboratory analysis. The company said this is the ideal way for facilities and mechanics that cater to the military, trucking, construction, fleet and service industries to maximize results, reduce labor and shorten the vehicle’s down time while maintaining the highest level of fluid efficiently.

For light-duty vehicles and most cars, the Fluid Rx All-In-1 Automotive Antifreeze/Coolant Diagnostics dip-strips measure the freeze point, boiling point, reserve alkalinity and pH level. This is the correct Fluid Rx product for everyday fleet applications such as police and security cars, taxis, limousine services, and municipalities, the company said.

The perfect companion to both Heavy Duty and All-In-1 dip-strips is the Fluid Rx Dip-Clip – an alligator clip combined with a Teflon shaft designed to make it easier to insert strips into radiators or auxiliary tanks for testing, according to the company. The Teflon shaft is long enough to reach the lower area of the brake and power steering reservoirs, as well.

Fluid Rx Heavy Duty Antifreeze Diagnostics comes in a molded twist-top bottle of 50 dip-strips. The evaluation chart is printed right on the bottle. The All-In-1 Antifreeze/Coolant Diagnostics comes with 70 dip-strips per bottle and also has test result charts printed directly to the label for easy referencing.

Case Study: New Cab Climate Solution Greatly Reduces Idling

Wheeler CAT Fleet Manager Scott Cline wanted to reduce the engine idle time racked up by the fleet’s service trucks when technicians were out on jobs.  Idle time was averaging 34% across the truck fleet, with some trucks hitting 50% idle time. The numbers were driving up fuel costs and increasing engine maintenance and downtime.
