Idealease Inc., which operates a large North American commercial vehicle leasing, rental and service networks, said it has expanded its product offering to include diesel-powered Capacity terminal tractors. The new partnership was announced last week at Idealease’s annual stockholders meeting in Chicago.
Capacity terminal tractors powered by Navistar’s MaxxForce brand diesel engines are available to cargo handlers through more than 400 Idealease locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the company said. Idealease services over 45,000 trucks, tractors and trailers throughout the continent.
“With Capacity, our customers now can lease or rent the industry’s most innovative and durable terminal tractors,” said Idealease President Dan Murphy. “Combined with Idealease’s maintenance and service capabilities this new offering provides affordable and reliable solution for businesses in need of specialized cargo-handling equipment.”
The multi-year deal is Capacity’s first program agreement with a national leasing company.
“For over 40 years, we have earned the reputation as a leader in design and durability because of our relentless pursuit to keep pushing the cargo industry forward,” said Capacity President Phillip Ford. “Now businesses have another strong channel through which to use a brand synonymous with powerful terminal tractors.”
Terminal tractors are used to move freight in ports, intermodal terminals, rail yards, warehouses and distribution centers. Capacity’s model offerings are powered by the MaxxForce 7 engine, rated at 215 horsepower with 560 ft.-lb. torque. The V8 turbo diesel is fully compliant with applicable EPA emissions standards.
