“/wp-content/uploads/SmartProducts/74499Zlinejpg_00000031664.jpg” new Pulsar with electronic fuse saver from Innovative Products of America (IPA) easily troubleshoots and identifies short circuits, parasitic and excessive amperage draws in vehicle electrical circuits, according to the company. The first of its kind, the tool features an adjustable current limiter, digital readout with peak hold (100mA to 50A @ 12VDC), and current limit setting (1A-50A).
Once it is connected to the fuse box or battery, the technician can adjust the current limit to the desired amperage rating while monitoring actual current draw, the maker said. The unit detects excessive current draw and cuts power automatically. It then continually and safely reapplies power every three seconds until the source of the excessive current draw is repaired.
The tool can be connected in line with virtually any vehicle’s electrical circuit (e.g., fuse box, fan motors, alternator leads, lights, etc.) to troubleshoot short circuits, parasitic draw or overload conditions. The company said it also features a manual mode to quickly pulse a desired level of current with the push of a button while monitoring the amperage draw in real time.
According to IPA, it is versatile and easy to use, and is a fast, safe solution for troubleshooting the most common electrical issues. The 9000 Kit includes ATC mini, standard and maxi fuse box adapters along with a connector for parasitic and bench testing. The 9001 Pulsar Master Kit includes nine Adapters for every fuse box connection and two bench testing/parasitic draw adapters, the company added. The product will be available in July.
