Innovative Products of America announced a new and improved version of its popular Mobile Universal Trailer Tester (MUTT), which the company said is the latest solution to time consuming and often inaccurate testing of trailer circuits and air braking system. It is an advanced diagnostic tool utilizing two Group 31 batteries that can quickly test and identify all trailer lighting functions (i.e. cross circuits, short circuits, and open circuits) and air brakes, the company added. The compact size and robust design with laser-cut metal makes it easily transportable to on-road sites, IPA adds. It comes with rubber tires, a remote control for air brakes, and an inlet for full-time emergency air supply.
According to the manufacturer, the new tester can save a minimum of 20 to 25 minutes per trailer inspection and 45 minutes to several hours on problem trailers, providing an average return on investment in 26 days. The product pays for itself 12 times over in the first year, the maker said.
