The Kenworth T680 Advantage truck is designed to integrate aerodynamics, powertrain and electronic efficiencies in a complete tractor-trailer package. The T680 Advantage is equipped with a 12.9-liter PACCAR MX-13 engine rated up to 500 HP and 1,850 ft.-lb. of torque that is paired with an Eaton UltraShift Plus automated manual transmission.
Other specs for the T680 Advantage include the Bendix Wingman Advanced System with adaptive cruise and the Bendix SmarTire Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The Advantage solution recently displayed by Kenworth also includes a Utility trailer fitted with a Laydon nose fairing, side skirts, and an ATDynamics TrailerTail.
Kenworth has also introduced a new 52-in. mid-roof sleeper for the T680. Designed for regional haul applications, the smaller sleeper, according to the company, will save up to 700 lbs. compared to the 76-in. sleeper available with the T680. The mid-roof sleeper features a liftable lower bunk and upper storage units on the back wall, and is offered with an optional upper bunk for teams.
Kenworth has announced a new factory-installed and integrated engine-off heating and cooling idle management system for the T680 with a 76-in. sleeper. The battery-based APU system for air conditioning is tied directly into the T680’s ducting system and an optional fuel-fired heater can be added to provide engine-off heating capability.
