Mack makes MP8 engine available in TerraPro concrete pumpers

Mack Trucks' 13-liter MP8 engine is now available in the company's TerraPro concrete pumper models. The engine is designed to meet increased customer demand for high horsepower and torque in concrete pumper applications.

Mack Trucks has announced that its 13-liter MP8 engine is now available in TerraPro concrete pumper models. The new offering, according to the OEM, is designed to meet increased customer demand for high horsepower and torque in concrete pumper applications. The Mack MP8 features three ratings and special performance calibrations unique to the concrete pumping industry. Ratings for the MP8 range from 425 to 505 HP and 1,760 lb./ft. of torque.

The Mack TerraPro Cabover also is equipped with the OEM’s Maxitorque ES manual transmission, and C150/151 and C202/203 axles.

Advantages of Carrier Transicold’s new Vector 8500 single-temperature hybrid trailer refrigeration unit include less weight, better capacity and improved fuel efficiency, according to the company. With the Vector 8500, Carrier is also introducing a fully hermetic electric scroll compressor, used in refrigerated marine container systems, that has 70 percent fewer moving parts and is 200 lbs lighter than a traditional reciprocating compressor.
The Carrier Transicold Vector 8500 incorporates the manufacturer’s ecoFORWARD technologies. Compared to the unit it succeeds, the new Vector 8500:
