Mack sponsors ‘Share the Road’ again in 2012

As part of the sponsorship, the company provided Share the Road with a new Mack Pinnacle Axle Back highway tractor, the third truck Mack has provided to Share the Road since it became the founding sponsor in 2001.

Mack Trucks Inc. will once again sponsor the Share The Road highway safety outreach program in 2012.

Designed to enhance the safety of America’s roadways by teaching car drivers how to safely drive around large trucks, Share the Road uses professional truck drivers with exemplary safety records to deliver life-saving messages about potential blind spots, safe following distances, truck stopping distances and other important topics. The drivers share this vital information with local media, students, community leaders and highway users around the U.S., using a Mack Pinnacle model highway tractor donated by the truck maker as part of its support of Share the Road.

“Thanks to Share the Road, millions of Americans know how to safely drive around large trucks, and millions more learn every year,” said Kevin Flaherty, Mack senior vice president – U.S. and Canada. “We are proud to support the program and its professional drivers as they work to make our highways safer places for everyone. At Mack, we salute not only these drivers who continue to deliver life-saving messages across the country, but also the fleets they work for who encourage them to participate in Share the Road.”

In line with its ongoing commitment to the program, Mack said it recently provided Share the Road with a brand new truck. The professional drivers at the heart of the program now deliver their safety messages in a new Mack Pinnacle Axle Back highway tractor. This marks the third truck Mack has provided to Share the Road since it became the founding sponsor in 2001.
