A new line of through-hardened heavy-duty tapered roller bearings forcommercial trailers was introduced by Federal-Mogul Corp.’s National Wheel End Components brand.
The premium through-hardened wheel bearings are engineered to deliver increased strength and dimensional stability, for longer service life in the most demanding heavy-duty operating environments, the company said. Each premium through-hardened bearing combines best-in-class materials and precise design and manufacturing tolerances. These bearings are manufactured through the same processes and with the same equipment as premium original equipment bearings to deliver the exact fit, performance and durability preferred by today’s fleets.
“In recent years, commercial vehicle OEMs have shifted their preference to premium through-hardened bearings," said Wendell Hays, senior product manager,
Federal-Mogul. “What’s most important is that we have delivered a premium through-hardened tapered roller bearing at a very attainable cost.”
Combined with OE-style crowned raceways and rollers, a high-strength steel cage and matched rollers, the new bearings offer customers the ideal combination of performance and dependability, according to Hays.
