New IPA products designed to extend tractor/trailer harness life

The 7 Round Pin Terminal Cleaners are designed for removing corrosion and reconditioning bad connectors on 7 Round Pin type electrical terminals found on tractors and trailers. Because they are manufactured to meet SAE specifications, they also can be used as a pin wear gauge to identify old worn out pins that need to be replaced.

“There are more than 7 million tractors and trailers on the road today and approximately 65,000 repair centers dedicated to servicing them,” Ian Vinci, vice president of Innovative Products of America (IPA) said. “All of these vehicles have one thing in common: they use the same 7 round pin terminals to connect the trailer to the tractor.”

To address maintenance on the connectors, the company has introduced the 7 Round Pin Terminal Cleaners (part #8024), which it says are designed for removing corrosion and reconditioning bad connectors on 7 Round Pin type electrical terminals found on tractors and trailers. Because they are manufactured to meet SAE specifications, they also can be used as a pin wear gauge to identify old worn out pins that need to be replaced.

In addition, IPA said its 7 Round Pin Towing Maintenance Kit (part #8029) combines the popular 7 Round Pin Tester, the new terminal cleaners, and the DeoxIT Contact Enhancer (part #8030) in one set that allows the technician to easily test, repair and maintain trailer connections on the road or in the shop.

“These new products combat premature failure of lighting and ABS systems often caused by poor electrical connections,” Vinci added. “Tractor and trailer terminals are constantly bombarded with dirt and debris, corrosive agents and adverse weather conditions, which leads to the build-up of corrosion and deterioration electrical connections.”

The 7 Round Pin Terminal Cleaners retail for $24.95 and the 7 Round Pin Towing Maintenance Kit retails for $59.95.  Both are available now.
