To combat overheating and other cooling system problems like scaling and liner pitting — and to insure that trucks on the road run cool and clean — Penray Power Fleet division offers a range of cooling system filters.
One of them, the Pencool NF2999 Series coolant filter, features an inner shell with a tough epoxy coating to guard against rust caused by low corrosion inhibitor protection, said its maker. The outer shell is coated with baked enamel to prevent intrusive rust from causing leaks. Penray’s exclusive filter element has been tested at temperatures of 350 degrees F without degradation, according to the company. The NF2999 fits standard filter bracket for Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, Cummins, Ford, etc. engines and will last as long as 50,000 miles or 1,500 hours, said Penray.
