3M reminds fleets that with the onset of winter weather comes more road debris and rugged highway conditions for fleet truck drivers. The company said its 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film (PPF) protective layer maintains and preserves the condition of vehicle exteriors against the elements.
The company added 3M PPF has higher bond strength than other films by as much as 20% to30%, giving it better coverage on curved edges of a fleet, no edge lift, and doesn’t allow the sharpie effect (black smudging caused by lesser films peeling back). 3M also said Scotchgard PPF has workability to it and unlike a normal paint finish, a scratch, stain or other mishap can effectively be cured to minimize its visibility. The film is tested using three different types of sands at high pressure, and accelerated weather testing also ensures the films can withstand natural conditions from extreme heat to the bitter cold, according to the company.
