Snap-on Tool Co. said its heavy-duty 48-in. and 54-in. striking prybars with crown handle (SPBH series) offer increased reach, which means less bending and reaching with your body. Stronger and larger components reduce the chance of off center strikes, which is important when using a heavy prybar in one hand and a heavy hammer in the other, according to Snap-on. The maker added the heavy-duty prybars also feature a handle where two large hands can be comfortably positioned when high leverage is needed, combining ergonomics, performance and durability.
The prybars are offered in high-visibility colors so they can be seen in dark and dirty environments. Both the 48-in. and 54-in. prybars are available with a red handle (SPBH48R and SPBH54R) or an orange handle (SPBH48O and SPBH54O). Snap-on said the prybars feature:
• Exclusive “crown” handle which provides protection from off-center hammer strikes (important as prybars get longer and heavier).
• 10 3/8-in. long handle for a comfortable, secure grip (long handle ensures that two hands can fit for high leverage applications).
• Cylindrical design with taper allows user to find a comfortable grip regardless of hand size.
• Embossed “chevron” design and surface texturing offers a non-slip surface.
• Made from the same durable, easy-to-clean material used on Snap-on SPBS series prybars.
• Striking cap features three times the surface area versus competitive prybars (reduces chance of handle damage or off-center strikes for better performance and safety).
• 3/4-in. square bar manufactured from special alloy steel, precision forged and heat treated for optimum strength and durability.
• High leverage flared tip (1 1/8-in.) with precision ground edge (easier access into small gaps).
• Blade is permanently stamped with product information and has an industrial finish (protects against corrosion).
