It was developed because plate trailers have become an industry standard and cut down on maintenance costs, the company said.
The trailer features composite sidewalls, which carry a 10-year warranty; a foam plastic core between two galvanized steel cover sheets, providing strength and durability against abrasion and damage; rust-preventative primer and polyester finish coats that are baked onto the cover sheets for longevity; panels joined by steel posts paired with galvanized internal posts with log slots; smooth, rounded rivet heads for a snag-free interior sidewall; and only LED lights, so it is legal in California and Canada, the company said.
Other premium specifications that provide more value include a five-hinge power door, theft-proof rear door hardware, three screws per crossmember per board, a six-inch galvanized steel scuff band atop the extruded aluminum inner base rail for scuff protection, an air-ride suspension and extruded aluminum radius corners, the company said.
Vanguard said production will begin in July. See www.vanguardtrailer.com for more information.
