A new long-term supply agreement with Daimler Trucks North America will place WABCO Maxxus single-piston air disc brake systems on the OEM’s models beginning in July 2012.

Maxxus air disc brakes are based on WABCO’s Maxx 22 single-piston technology pioneered in Europe and adopted by global manufacturers of commercial trucks and buses. Maxx 22 brakes, according to the manufacturer, are the industry’s lightest single-piston air disc brakes, and by helping reduce vehicle weight can boost fuel efficiency and enable increased payload capacity.

“We are proud to supply Daimler Trucks North America with WABCO’s Maxxus air disc brakes, a new generation of high performance, low weight braking technology that increases vehicle safety and efficiency,” said Nikhil Varty, WABCO president, Americas. “Maxxus is yet another mark of WABCO’s technology leadership as we further demonstrate our commitment to North America’s commercial vehicle industry.”
