Geotab for Ford vehicles compatible with Geotab Drive ELD app

Geotab Integrated Solution for Ford vehicles now compatible with Geotab Drive ELD app

Geotab Inc. has announced that vehicles equipped with Geotab Integrated Solution for Ford are now compatible with the company’s Geotab Drive electronic logging device (ELD) app, allowing drivers to record their Hours of Service (HOS) status and complete vehicle inspections from their tablet or smartphone. The news comes on the heels of Geotab Drive gaining ELD certification by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

Geotab Integrated Solution for Ford features Geotab’s open platform for telematics, which the company says helps organizations reduce fleet costs, increase productivity and efficiency, improve safety and strengthen compliance. With ready-to-go factory-fit hardware integration on all new Ford models direct from the factory, Geotab says the solution allows fleet managers to collect and monitor rich, high-quality data from Ford vehicles, all with end-to-end data protection.

The combined Geotab Drive app and Geotab Integrated Solution for Ford enable drivers to log their HOS from their smartphones and tablet devices, while also allowing drivers to complete vehicle inspections including streamlining Driver Vehicle Inspection Reporting (DVIR), International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) reporting and driver identification.

In addition, accessing ELD data through the MyGeotab portal enables fleet managers to keep track of fleet compliance with real-time data insights through a user-friendly interface where they can view detailed reports on driver logs, violation alerts and running reports on the status of the fleet, among other things.
