The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced several new products in its commercial truck tire line.
The Goodyear G316 LHT Fuel Max with DuraSeal combines two technologies: Goodyear – Fuel Max technology, which incorporates compounds and constructions to help improve miles per gallon, and DuraSeal technology, a built-in tire sealant for commercial truck tires that instantly seals tread punctures (up to a quarter-inch diameter in the tread area only) without application of aftermarket sealants.
Available this summer in two key trailer tire sizes, 295/75R22.5 and 11R22.5, the G316 LHT Fuel Max with DuraSeal features a triple-compound construction to reduce rolling resistance and improve fuel savings. Additionally, a 12/32-in. tread depth, all-steel/four-belt package, and a solid shoulder rib with a PDG groove add to the tire’s positive performance, the tire maker noted. For all-season performance on wet roads, the tire offers two wide circumferential grooves.
Goodyear also announced a new regional drive tire for trucking customers, the G622 RSD. The new tire is intended to provide even wear and high traction for multiple regional applications and vehicle types. For end-users, the tire helps provide enhanced miles to removal and even wear, elements that contribute to excellent retreadability, the company said.
Product features include an aggressive tread blading pattern and tie-barred shoulders. These elements are expected to help in the tire’s expected usage environment of regional and urban pickup and delivery applications. Current sizes include 225/70R19.5, 245/70R19.5, 9R22.5, 265/70R19.5, 265/75R22.5 and 245/75R22.5. Six additional sizes will be available by this summer.
