Hino Trucks earns continued high rankings

Hino Trucks has again received the "Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Conventional Medium-Duty Engines" and the "Highest in Customer Satisfaction among Conventional Medium-Duty Trucks" ranking from J.D. Power and Associates.

Hino Trucks has received a new round of accolades from J.D. Power and Associates, including the  “Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Conventional Medium-Duty Engines” for the fifth year in a row and the “Highest in Customer Satisfaction among Conventional Medium-Duty Trucks” ranking for the third year in a row.

In the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Medium-Duty Engine and Transmission Satisfaction Study, now in its fifth year, customer perceptions of 2011 model year Class 5, 6 and 7 trucks equipped with both gasoline and diesel engines were measured and ranked and the highest ranking was given to the Hino Model J08E. The engine is offered in two ratings, including 220 HP/520 lb./ft. and 260 HP/585 lb./ft.

In the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Medium-Duty Truck Customer Satisfaction Study, which measures customer perceptions of product and service for 2011 model-year Class 5, 6 and 7 commercial trucks, Hino ranked highest for a third consecutive year. In particular, the company improved 13 points year-over-year within the study’s Product Index Ranking to reach a highest overall composite score of 820 out of 1,000 points. Within the product index, six factors are used to determine overall satisfaction: engine; warranty; cost of operation; cab and body; ride/handling/braking; and transmission. In the warranty category, Hino made a 40-point jump in scoring with its engine warranty of 5 years/250,000 miles, and in the cost of ownership category the manufacturer ranked highest at 782 points, which is more than 71 points above the industry average.
