Tour dates for the new Model 579 from Peterbilt Motors Co. have been announced. The Legend Continues Tour, which began in June and will continue through November 2012, will stop at more than 40 Peterbilt dealer locations across the U.S. and Canada.

The Legend Continues Tour features a 53-ft. double-expandable trailer with approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of space with kiosks and displays that highlight the Model 579’s design features, technology and performance, the company said. Included are cab and sleeper cutaway displays, and an interactive “Technology Zone” focused on components such as headlamps, driver information panel, SmartNav, and new multi-function steering wheel controls. There also are videos highlighting reliability testing, aerodynamic efficiency, and the lightweight chassis design of the Model 579.

Peterbilt added its New Revolution Seats, with two-chamber lumbar support, adjustable side bolsters, adjustable suspension dampening, heating and ventilation options, and additional storage pockets also are showcased.

“The interactive tour will allow dealers and customers the opportunity to experience first-hand all of the new Model 579 features and benefits,” said Bill Kozek, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. “The 579 is the most innovative vehicle in Peterbilt’s history, providing the highest quality, superior aerodynamics, unmatched comfort and exceptional reliability.”
