Accuride Corp. said it has completed its initial expansion of aluminum wheel production capacity at its Accuride de Mexico facility in Monterrey, Mexico. The expansion was first announced in November 2010, and involved the transfer of an existing machining line from Accuride’s plant in Erie, Pa., to its Mexico facility.
According to the company, the new line is now operating at full capacity, and establishes Accuride as the country’s only single-source supplier of both steel and aluminum wheels for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. The 226,000-sq.-ft. facility is located on approximately 22 acres on the north side of Monterrey. It was built in 1999 and employs approximately 400 people.
